Keep Play Areas Safe for Your Kids, make sure that any bookshelves, dressers, or desks are bolted on the wall to prevent them from falling on a climbing child. If possible, only use childrens size furniture as too tall of furniture can be unsafe for younger children. Keep all small toys and art supplies up high where small children can not reach them. Make sure that if you have a baby or toddler that you have it baby proofed such as placing covers on all the outlets and not having any hanging blind cords from the windows.
Cabinet hardware is a great way to start and complete an exciting room theme. Aside from the fact that there are plenty of options for you and your child to choose from, these room ornaments are functional and something you would be spending money on anyway. On top of all that, novelty or themed cabinet knobs and pulls can really create the look you are aiming for in a direct and lighthearted manner. Give your kids the gift of a fun, themed room, and give yourself the gift of a few extra bucks in your pocket and strands of sanity left in your head at the end of it all. Let cabinet hardware the simple room theme solution for you.
Project two, this hide-a-way project is for those of you who have eight foot ceilings. This kids room decorating idea will take a little more planing but it will work. While your builder is building your house have him include a little space in the attic to finish out above your childs bedroom. Once again it does not have to be very big for a child to really enjoy. Have them finish out the opening with some trim molding for a finished look or if you wish you can trim it out yourself to save some money. Cutting the crown molding angles is the hardest part but you can do it with a little practice. Get some of the scrape pieces and practice cutting your angles. Now all you need to do is build them a little ladder to get into their hide-a-way and they will be all set for a fun time in their new bedroom.
Note,If you do not feel safe with a ladder built up the wall you may want to consider putting your opening at one end of the room and adding a small staircase up the side of the wall. This is my special kids room decorating ideas to help you child enjoy their special space. Enjoy and remember Your story Begins At Home.
