Ideas for decorating childrens bedrooms are nearly endless. Children love bright colors and patterns and enjoy having their rooms decorated with scenes and pictures of cartoon characters or superheroes. There also exist a wide variety in bedding, throw pillows, rugs, wall coverings and more that can all be used to decorate childrens rooms.
You can still implement fancy designs in small decor pieces that can easily be changed or replaced when your child gets older. Instead of having a miniature pirate ships made as a bed, you can paint a mural of pirate figures and ships. When your kid tires of this concept, you can easily paint over the wall. Color theme, Colors have an effect on peoples moods and feelings. Colors such as red, orange and yellow can make one more excited and hyperactive. Cool colors like green and blue are calming. Use you colors moderately and create some tone balance. You can use strong warm colors to brighten up a room but try not to overwhelm a kids bedroom with too much energetic colors.
Keep Play Areas Safe for Your Kids, make sure that any bookshelves, dressers, or desks are bolted on the wall to prevent them from falling on a climbing child. If possible, only use childrens size furniture as too tall of furniture can be unsafe for younger children. Keep all small toys and art supplies up high where small children can not reach them. Make sure that if you have a baby or toddler that you have it baby proofed such as placing covers on all the outlets and not having any hanging blind cords from the windows.
Project two, this hide-a-way project is for those of you who have eight foot ceilings. This kids room decorating idea will take a little more planing but it will work. While your builder is building your house have him include a little space in the attic to finish out above your childs bedroom. Once again it does not have to be very big for a child to really enjoy. Have them finish out the opening with some trim molding for a finished look or if you wish you can trim it out yourself to save some money. Cutting the crown molding angles is the hardest part but you can do it with a little practice. Get some of the scrape pieces and practice cutting your angles. Now all you need to do is build them a little ladder to get into their hide-a-way and they will be all set for a fun time in their new bedroom.
