Creating private space for each child in a shared bedroom does not have to be expensive or difficult. With a little imagination and common sense decorating a childs room and finding just the right kids decor wall art can be fun and easy. In no time at all, you can decorate a shared room that will keep both your children happy until they can have a room of their own.
Make the Playroom Room Durable, you do not want to put your favorite piece of furniture in a childs playroom unless you want to get it broken. Children, even girls, tend to be rough on furniture and other decorating items. Some ways that you can keep the room durable is to keep the décor items simple. Plastic bins and baskets can serve as storage as well as decorations for the room. Rugs should be easy to clean as well as darker colors and patterns to hide stains.
Nautical Theme- Young and old alike, people are magically drawn to the sea. That is why nautical themed rooms are among the most popular designs every year. Maximize this theme with detailed cabinet pulls and knobs from starfish, angelfish and dolphins to anchors, mermaids and seashells. Shades of blue, red and cream will bring this theme home. (Alternatively, if you prefer greens, Acorn Hardware has a colorful fish knob in beautiful shades of green.) Use thick twined rope or netting to further your theme.
Layout, Study your layout and floor plan to accommodate the bed, play area, shelves for books and toys, study table and wardrobe closet. It is important to have all these areas in one room unless you have a separate play room and study room in the house. Plan the floor plan in a way that furniture pieces do not get in the way or crowd the room. Storage and wardrobe space, Install fitted shelves and cabinets with doors to minimize a cluttered look. Children will have a hard time concentrating on studies amidst cluttered surroundings. You can never have enough storage space and kids tend to accumulate more junk as they grow up.
