Layout, Study your layout and floor plan to accommodate the bed, play area, shelves for books and toys, study table and wardrobe closet. It is important to have all these areas in one room unless you have a separate play room and study room in the house. Plan the floor plan in a way that furniture pieces do not get in the way or crowd the room. Storage and wardrobe space, Install fitted shelves and cabinets with doors to minimize a cluttered look. Children will have a hard time concentrating on studies amidst cluttered surroundings. You can never have enough storage space and kids tend to accumulate more junk as they grow up.
Project two, this hide-a-way project is for those of you who have eight foot ceilings. This kids room decorating idea will take a little more planing but it will work. While your builder is building your house have him include a little space in the attic to finish out above your childs bedroom. Once again it does not have to be very big for a child to really enjoy. Have them finish out the opening with some trim molding for a finished look or if you wish you can trim it out yourself to save some money. Cutting the crown molding angles is the hardest part but you can do it with a little practice. Get some of the scrape pieces and practice cutting your angles. Now all you need to do is build them a little ladder to get into their hide-a-way and they will be all set for a fun time in their new bedroom.
